Castello di Verduno is one of the historic estates of the Langhe, known for its classical, transparent style of Nebbiolo and deep roots in the commune of Verduno. This Barolo is a traditional blend of three estate vineyards—Boscatto, Campasso, and Rodasca—each contributing nuance to a wine that reflects Verduno’s elegant, perfumed expression of the appellation.

WINEMAKER: Castello di Verduno Estate Team

FARMING: Sustainable

VARIETY: 100% Nebbiolo

TERROIR: Sourced from three vineyards in Verduno—Boscatto, Campasso, and Rodasca—planted on Marne di Sant’Agata: chalky clay made up of 30% sand, 55% clay, and 15% limestone. These soils, paired with varied exposures, create a Barolo that is aromatic, structured, and finely textured.

VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested in mid-October. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel for 30 days with daily punchdowns, extracting fine tannins and aromatic detail.

AGING: Aged 28 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by 1 month in stainless steel and 9 months in bottle before release. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

TASTING NOTES: The 2021 Barolo shows lifted aromas of red cherry, rose, and dried herbs alongside subtle spice and mineral tones. The palate is refined and balanced, showing Verduno’s hallmark elegance—medium-bodied structure, polished tannins, and a long, gently savory finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with truffle dishes, braised short ribs, tajarin with ragù, roasted mushrooms, or aged cheeses.
