Il Colombaio di Santa Chiara, nestled in the rolling hills of San Gimignano, is a family-run estate dedicated to organic viticulture and the authentic expression of Vernaccia. Established in 2002 by the Logi brothers, the winery emphasizes sustainable practices and meticulous craftsmanship to produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

  • WINEMAKER: Alessio Logi

  • FARMING: Certified Organic

  • VARIETY: 100% Vernaccia di San Gimignano

  • TERROIR: Vineyards situated at elevations between 350–400 meters above sea level, featuring soils composed of Pliocene sands, clay, pebbles, gravel, and limestone. The surrounding woodlands contribute to a rich biodiversity, enhancing the vineyard's ecosystem.

  • VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested grapes undergo whole-cluster pressing, followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures in cement vats and stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on its fine lees until bottling to enhance texture and complexity.

  • AGING: Aged on fine lees in cement and stainless steel tanks until bottling.

  • TASTING NOTES: Pale straw-yellow with greenish hues. The nose offers aromas of white-fleshed fruits like apple and pear, complemented by notes of lime, lily of the valley, thyme, and lemon balm. On the palate, it is vibrant and fresh, with a pronounced minerality and a long, decisive finish.

  • FOOD PAIRINGS: Ideal with tartare, carpacci, light pasta dishes, fried seafood or vegetables, and roasted white meats.
