Famille Moussé, led by Cédric Moussé in the village of Cuisles, is known for deeply terroir-focused, Meunier-driven Champagnes farmed with organic principles and crafted with precision. ‘La Confiance de Mon Père’ is one of the estate’s most personal wines, named as a tribute to Cédric’s father and built around a single high-elevation parcel vinified as a true rosé de saignée. It is a powerful yet controlled expression of Meunier, shaped by long maceration, minimal dosage, and extended lees aging.

WINEMAKER: Cédric Moussé

FARMING: Practicing organic. The estate farms without synthetic herbicides or systemic treatments, emphasizing soil health, biodiversity, and balanced yields. Fruit is hand-harvested from mature vines averaging over 40 years of age.

VARIETY: 100% Meunier.

TERROIR: Sourced exclusively from the single-site lieu-dit “Les Bouts de la Ville,” located at the top of the hill in Cuisles. The vineyard is rooted in green clay soils, a defining feature of this part of the Vallée de la Marne, contributing both structure and savory depth to the wine.

VINIFICATION: After destemming, whole berries undergo a prolonged cold infusion of approximately 168 hours in a carbon dioxide–protected environment, allowing juice to be released by gravity without pressing. This extended maceration gives the wine its deep rosé color and vinous character. Fermentation occurs in barrel, followed by aging in stainless steel. Full malolactic fermentation is completed.

AGING: Aged on the lees for approximately 36 months before disgorgement. Disgorged February 2024. Finished as Extra Brut with a dosage of 0.5 g/L.

TASTING NOTES: Deeply colored and expressive, showing aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, blood orange, red apple, spice, and wild herbs. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and vinous, with a frothy mousse, ripe yet lively acidity, and a long, perfumed finish marked by savory and citrus peel notes.

FOOD PAIRINGS: Excellent with duck, charcuterie, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses; equally compelling as a contemplative Champagne for lovers of structured rosé.
