Scheduling tasting appointments
We're opening a new shop in Napa Valley!
During this transition, we are not accepting tasting appointments from wine portfolios or producers with whom we haven't yet worked. If you would like to be considered for our shelves in the future, you may ship or drop off samples with all relevant sales collateral, pricing, and contact information to San Francisco store: DECANTsf, 1168 Folsom St., Suite 101, San Francisco, CA 94103
Our Selection Guidelines
How We Taste
We taste wine blind. This means all suppliers will be asked to come with bottles wrapped in an opaque bag. The only information we want to know while initially tasting is the price, the region, and the varietal/blend. Our goal is to remove any personal bias on producer or reputation and taste primarily for quality and value, ensuring to our customers that every bottle on the shelves is hand-picked, vetted, and gives them the best bang for their buck.
What We Look For
WE ONLY ACCEPT WINES FROM SUSTAINABLY FARMED VINEYARDS. Organic and Biodynamic are preferred, but certification is not necessary. We adore natural wine, but we don’t like poorly-made, dirty “natty” wine. Please let us know if the wine is produced by womxn, lgbtq+, and bipoc makers/owners. We are always on the hunt to diversify representation on our shelves.
Zero-proof, food & gifts
We also love books and snacks, water and kombucha, tea and chocolate, etc. If you have a non-alcoholic item you think might be a good fit for the shop, please contact us using our website form and we will get back to you with interest and an appointment. We are very interested in pop-ups and collaborations with Wine Country and Bay Area artisans creating consumables or beautiful things! However, we cannot currently resell any THC or CBD containing products.
If Your Wine Is Selected
When your wine is selected, we require a full list of information so we may write offers and descriptions for our clients efficiently.
For each wine, send us an email with the following information:
- Winemaker:
- Variety:
- Farming Practice:
- Terroir:
- Vinification Practice:
