Domaine Meyer-Fonné is a family-run estate based in the village of Katzenthal, in the heart of Alsace. Under the direction of Félix Meyer, the domaine has become one of the region’s quiet benchmarks—combining organic farming, meticulous vineyard work, and low-intervention winemaking to craft wines of remarkable clarity and depth that speak fluently of their varied terroirs. Edelzwicker, which translates to “noble blend,” is sort of a wine free-for-all style of wine in Alsace, blended with any number of grapes in any proportion by winemakers across the region.
-
WINEMAKER: Félix Meyer
-
FARMING: Certified Organic (Ecocert); hand-harvested from old-vine parcels
-

-
TERROIR: Planted between 1982 and 2015 on Granitic Colluvium, Alluvium soils
-

-
AGING: Wine is racked two weeks after fermentation is completed and kept on the fine lees until the mid-May bottling.
-
TASTING NOTES: Subtle aromas of green pear, fresh gardenia, and a bit of ginger lead to a palate that is supple yet vibrant, with hints of almond and citrus zest.
-
