From the southern reaches of the Côte de Beaune, Bruno Colin—based in Chassagne-Montrachet—crafts expressive, terroir-driven wines marked by clarity, restraint, and precision. Though best known for his elegant white Burgundies, Colin’s reds from Santenay and Chassagne show a deft hand with Pinot Noir, balancing ripe fruit with fine structure and minerality. The ‘Vieilles Vignes’ bottling highlights old-vine depth and the pure, earthy character of Santenay’s limestone slopes.

WINEMAKER: Bruno Colin
-
FARMING: Sustainable (Lutte Raisonnée); hand-harvested old-vine fruit
-
VARIETY: 100% Pinot Noir
-
TERROIR: Sourced from several parcels of old vines (40–60 years) in Santenay, on clay-limestone soils with good drainage and southeast exposure. The terroir lends both structure and aromatic lift, producing wines of freshness and finesse.
-
VINIFICATION: Traditional Burgundian methods; full destemming, cold soak prior to fermentation with native yeasts; gentle extraction via remontage and pigeage to preserve fruit purity
-
AGING: Aged 12 months in French oak barrels (about 20–25% new), followed by bottling without fining or filtration
