Domaine du Gros is a family-owned estate in the heart of Bandol, recognized for producing powerful yet elegant Mourvèdre-driven wines that reflect the rugged, sun-drenched terroir of the region. With a focus on low-yield, old-vine vineyards and minimal intervention in the cellar, the domaine crafts wines of depth, complexity, and longevity, balancing rich fruit with earthy minerality and Provençal character.

  • WINEMAKER: Alain Pascal

  • FARMING: Sustainable practices; old-vine parcels hand-harvested

  • VARIETY: 80% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache, 5% Cinsault

  • TERROIR: Vines planted on clay-limestone soils with stones and sandy components; Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cooling Mistral winds; vineyards on well-drained slopes providing structure and concentration

  • VINIFICATION: Traditional fermentation with native yeasts; long maceration to extract color, tannins, and aromatics while preserving balance

  • AGING: Aged 18–24 months in French oak barrels to refine structure and integrate flavors

  • TASTING NOTES: Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, garrigue herbs, and leather evolve into a rich palate of plum, graphite, and savory spice. Silky tannins and a persistent, mineral-driven finish showcase the wine’s Provençal pedigree and age-worthiness

  • FOOD PAIRINGS: Roast lamb, Provençal stews, grilled game, or aged hard cheeses
