Pierre Meurgey is a fourth-generation Burgundian winemaker known for producing elegant, terroir-driven wines from carefully selected parcels throughout the Côte d’Or. The Premier Cru ‘Les Valières’ lies on the southern slopes of Beaune and is prized for its finesse, aromatic complexity, and mineral tension—qualities that Pierre captures through a restrained and thoughtful winemaking approach.

TERROIR: Located on the southern end of the Beaune appellation, ‘Les Valières’ features well-drained clay-limestone soils with good sun exposure. The site’s altitude and slope promote slow ripening and balanced acidity.

VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested; fully destemmed; native yeast fermentation in open-top vats with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs for balanced extraction.

AGING: Aged for 14–16 months in French oak barrels, approximately 30% new.

TASTING NOTES: Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, rose petal, and subtle earth. Silky on the palate with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a mineral finish that brings lift and definition.
