Elvio Tintero is a beloved, family-run estate in the Langhe hills, producing joyfully expressive wines that capture the spirit of everyday Piemonte. Known especially for their charming and refreshingly honest bottlings of Moscato, the Tintero family farms steep vineyards in and around Mango with a focus on sustainability and tradition. 'Sorì Gramella' is sourced from a single, sun-drenched hillside (sorì) vineyard, delivering a classic and exuberant Moscato d’Asti with aromatic purity and natural finesse.
-
WINEMAKER: Marco Tintero
-
FARMING: Sustainable (practicing organic)
-
VARIETY: 100% Moscato Bianco
-
TERROIR: From the Gramella vineyard in Mango, Asti, planted on calcareous clay soils at ~300 meters elevation. The site’s south-facing exposure ensures full ripeness while preserving acidity and aromatic intensity.
-
VINIFICATION: Grapes are gently pressed and fermented slowly in autoclave via the Charmat method to retain natural sweetness and effervescence. Fermentation is halted early to preserve residual sugar and low alcohol. 120 g/L residual sugar.
-
AGING: Brief tank aging on lees before bottling; released young to showcase freshness.
-
TASTING NOTES: Bursting with aromas of white peach, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and ripe pear. Lightly sparkling and gently sweet on the palate, with vibrant acidity and a clean, floral finish. Effortlessly balanced and joyous.
-
FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect with fruit tarts, panettone, lemon cake, or spicy Asian dishes. Also lovely as an aperitif.
