BLIND TASTING WORKSHOP! - OCTOBER 23RD
Arnaud Combier is one of Beaujolais’ quiet revolutionaries—a thoughtful vigneron who champions organic farming and low-intervention winemaking to reveal the true delicacy of Gamay. Working with old vines rooted in granitic soils, he crafts wines of lift, purity, and floral finesse that capture the essence of each cru with honesty and grace.
-
WINEMAKER: Arnaud Combier
-
FARMING: Certified Organic
-
VARIETY: 100% Gamay
-
TERROIR: From vineyards in Fleurie, one of Beaujolais’ most elegant crus, where pink granite soils and elevated slopes (300–400m) promote aromatic intensity and fine tannin structure.
-
VINIFICATION: Whole-cluster fermentation using native yeasts; semi-carbonic maceration in concrete tanks to enhance fruit expression and freshness.
-
AGING: Aged in a combination of neutral oak and concrete for 6–8 months before bottling with minimal sulfur.
-
TASTING NOTES: Aromas of redcurrant, wild strawberry, and rose petals mingle with crushed stone and subtle spice. The palate is silky and lifted, with bright acidity, gentle tannins, and a long, perfumed finish that speaks of granite and finesse.
-
FOOD PAIRINGS: Roast duck breast, charcuterie, mushroom risotto, or grilled salmon.
