Beaumont Wines is a historic, family-run farm in Bot River, home to the Overberg’s oldest wine cellar with roots dating back to the 1700s. Since taking over the cellar in 2004, Sebastian Beaumont has focused on a clean, site-driven expression of Chenin Blanc that emphasizes freshness, texture, and varietal clarity.

• TERROIR: Fruit sourced from Vineyards 4, Old Mill, 16, and 17 in Walker Bay, Cape South Coast. Vines range from 4–17 years old, planted at 50–80 meters elevation on west- and north-facing slopes of Bokkeveld shale. The maritime influence brings cool, windy conditions that preserve acidity and moderate ripening.
• VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested from late January through February and picked early to retain freshness. Grapes are destemmed and processed during cool mornings, settled overnight, then fermented primarily in concrete tanks with a small portion in stainless steel. Fermentations include both inoculated and naturally fermented lots.
• AGING: Aged 2–4 months on fine lees in concrete before bottling on May 20, 2024.
• TASTING NOTES: Unwooded and fruit-forward with bright acidity. Yellow citrus, apple, and pear lead, with a clean, focused palate shaped by cool-climate tension and subtle lees texture.
