Bernard Diochon is a multi-generational vigneron in Beaujolais, recognized for producing structured, age-worthy wines from old vines using traditional, low-intervention methods. The 'Vieilles Vignes' Moulin-à-Vent highlights the power and elegance of Gamay on the granitic soils of this northern Beaujolais cru, balancing concentration with finesse.

  • WINEMAKER: Bernard Diochon

  • FARMING: Sustainable; old-vine selection

  • VARIETY: 100% Gamay

  • TERROIR: From vineyards in Moulin-à-Vent, northern Beaujolais; granitic and sandy soils on gentle slopes contribute fine tannins, aromatic intensity, and aging potential.

  • VINIFICATION: Semi-carbonic maceration with whole-cluster inclusion; native yeast fermentation and minimal intervention to preserve purity of fruit.

  • AGING: Aged in neutral oak and stainless steel for 8–12 months to maintain freshness while developing structure.

  • TASTING NOTES: Red cherry, cranberry, and wild strawberry aromas are accented by floral and spice notes. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a mineral-driven, lingering finish.

  • FOOD PAIRINGS: Roast pork, coq au vin, mushroom tarts, or mild cheeses.
