Lacourte-Godbillon is a family-run grower-producer based in Écueil, a Premier Cru village on the western side of the Montagne de Reims. Led by brothers Richard and Christophe Godbillon, the estate is known for its meticulous vineyard work, low-intervention cellar practices, and a style that balances precision with generosity. Their Rosé Champagne reflects the domaine’s focus on purity of fruit, fine structure, and expressive terroir.
-
WINEMAKER: Geraldine Lacourte & Richard Desvignes
-
FARMING: Organic
-
VARIETY: 100% Pinot Noir
-
TERROIR: Fruit sourced from Premier Cru vineyards in Écueil, characterized by alluvial soils and cooler western exposures that lend freshness, minerality, and aromatic lift.
-
VINIFICATION: The base wines are fermented in 44% oak barrels to introduce subtle richness without overwhelming the freshness. Malolactic fermentation is typically carried out, contributing roundness and balance. Disgorged September 2021. Dosage: 4 g/L.
-
AGING: 26 months on the lees (40% used barrique, 60% stainless steel) before disgorgement. This extended lees contact develops complexity, refined mousse, and enhanced aromatic depth.
-
TASTING NOTES: Bright and inviting with aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, and raspberry, accented by subtle citrus peel and floral notes. The palate is lively and refined, with a delicate mousse, vibrant acidity, and a clean, mineral-driven finish.
-
FOOD PAIRINGS: Prosciutto and charcuterie, salmon crudo, roast chicken, tuna tartare, or soft cheeses.
