The story of Ramón Peña dates back to 1920. A small canning company in Galicia began with the careful production of fish and seafood preserves, controlling the raw materials and precious artisanal processes from the origin, in order to make the tins authentic luxuries for the palette. Time has only strengthened this philosophy of continuous improvement and an objective that has remained intact, to preserve the best of the sea in the Ramón Peña tins. Savory, garlicky, with a gentle kiss of heat, these Silver Line mussels with garlic and chilli are a uniquely delicious way to enjoy Galician seafood.
The mussels are grown on floating rafts called “baixas” in Galician estuaries, selected for size, quality, and freshness, debearded, hand-fried, and packed in a proprietary sauce of fresh garlic and spicy cayenne pepper. Enjoy on salt and vinegar potato chips, or serve atop sushi rice with creamy pops of yolky Japanese mayo.
