Valle dell’Acate is one of Sicily’s most respected family-run estates, known for championing the region’s native varieties and farming some of the island’s oldest vineyards. Located in the southeastern corner of Sicily near Ragusa, the Jacono family has been producing wines here for six generations, with Gaetana Jacono now at the helm. Their focus is on sustainability and authentic expressions of place, with Cerasuolo di Vittoria—the island’s only DOCG—at the heart of their work.

• TERROIR: Vineyards in the Bidini area of Vittoria; sandy red soils over limestone, at 120–150m elevation. The climate is Mediterranean with hot days tempered by cool nights and coastal breezes, preserving freshness.
• VINIFICATION: Hand-harvested fruit; fermented in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at controlled temperatures to preserve aromatics and fruit vibrancy.
• AGING: 12 months in stainless steel, followed by bottle refinement before release.
• TASTING NOTES: Aromas of red cherries, pomegranate, wild strawberries, and dried roses, layered with subtle spice and earthy undertones. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, soft tannins, and a mineral-driven finish.
