Aslina Wines, founded by South Africas first black female winemaker Ntsiki Biyela, is known for crafting wines that showcase elegance and a strong sense of place. This Sauvignon Blanc reflects her commitment to sustainable practices and high-quality winemaking.
- WINEMAKER: Ntsiki Biyela
- FARMING: Sustainable practices, focusing on environmental responsibility and biodiversity.
- VARIETY: 100% Chenin Blanc
- TERROIR: Sourced from the Stellenbosch region, South Africa, where the cool climate and diverse soils foster exceptional fruit ripeness and acidity. The vineyards are planted on rolling hills with both decomposed granite and clay soils.
- VINIFICATION: The grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and purity of fruit. The wine is aged on lees for added complexity and texture.
- AGING: Aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months to retain the wine’s vibrant fruit character while adding subtle roundness from lees contact.
- TASTING NOTES: This Chenin Blanc offers bright aromas of green apple, pear, and citrus, with subtle floral notes. The palate is fresh and crisp, with a well-balanced acidity and a hint of honeyed richness, showcasing the depth and minerality of the terroir.
- FOOD PAIRINGS: Pairs beautifully with seafood dishes like grilled shrimp, oysters, or sushi, as well as goat cheese salads and roasted chicken with herbs.
