Based in the west Sonoma Coast, Peay Vineyards focuses on terroir-driven, single-variety wines that underscore the beautiful expressions of the coastline's rugged terroir.

- Variety: Syrah (Clones: 28% Hermitage "Suitcase"; 9% Estrella River "Chapoutier"; 46% 470; 17% 174)
- Terroir / Soil: 4 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, with a strong cool climate influence. Uplifted ancient seabed, mingles with sandy loam and hints of clay.
- Vinification: 100% destemmed and aged on lees for 15 months in 100% old French oak barrels.
- Tasting Notes: La Bruma's nose leads with blackberry jam, black olive, and jasmine notes. A liquid ink flavor (what, you never had a pen explode in your mouth?) creeps into the round, silky mid-palate. The wine finishes with soft tannins and a smoky, bacon quality. It is ready to go on release, and has aging potential, though due to the warmer 2020, may be ready sooner than other vintages. 200 cases made.
