Angela Fronti’s Istine wine are grown from a group of high-altitude small vineyards
around the town of Radda, and one over the border in Gaiole. She’s an exciting young
winemaker and a trained enologist, with a non-interventionist style and a deep understanding of the region.

Soil / Terroir: Grapes come mostly from their vineyards Istine (Radda in Chianti), Casanova dell’Aia (Radda in Chianti) and Cavarchione (Gaiole in Chianti), but in small part also from their vineyards Tibuca and Le Noci. Average 500 m a.s.l., from soils rich in skeleton with alternating marly limestones (Alberese and
Galestro) and variable percentages of clay. -
Vinification: Hand-harvested, 15 to 20 days in concrete and stainless
steel tanks at a controlled temperature (max 28°C). Maceration on the skins for-8 weeks, with malolacatic fermentation in concrete and stainless steel tanks. - Aging: 12 months in 10hl, 20hl and 40hl Slavonian oak casks and barrels, partially aged in concrete tanks

Tasting Notes: Classic and prolific, this wine is warm with notes of balsamic, sour red cherry, fresh marjoram and smoked strawberries. Medium bodies, with bright acidity and pressing but integrated tannins.
