The Eyrie Vineyards, founded in 1965 by David and Diana Lett, is renowned for pioneering the cultivation of Pinot Noir in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Their commitment to organic farming and minimal intervention winemaking has established them as a cornerstone of the region's viticultural identity. The 'Chasselas Doré' is a rare and historic variety, originally planted in the 1960s as part of a Muscat planting from UC Davis. Recognizing its potential, the Lett family propagated it, and it has since become a signature wine of the estate.
