Farming: Practicing Biodynamic
- Varieties: 100% Barbera
- Terroir: Shake Ridge Ranch, grantic-quartz red soils planted in the early 2000s.
- Vinification: Native yeast fermentation, 40% whole cluster, 2-3 punchdowns per day during the 14 day fermentation
- Aging: 18 months in one neutral French puncheon and one neutral French barrel
- Tasting Notes: Luxardo cherry, dried lavender, rhubarb, and warm stones. A palate that is bright but earthy, with lively acidity and cobblestone tannins for a round, long finish. This wine brings a packet of seeds to the first date instead of flowers. Which is to say, it's here to make you think, and it's here to play the long game.
