Hendry 'Block 28' Zinfandel, Napa Valley, California 2019
The Hendry famiy has owned property in Napa Valley since 1939, and so they know their land so well that they farm and bottle Block by Block. The importance of the vineyard is heavily stressed win their winemaking, and they’ve devoted much of their time with the land to understanding its variations on even the smallest scales.

Terroir: 100% Estate fruit from Hendry Ranch (Napa Valley AVA). Block 27 is a 4.17-acre block planted in 1998 using St. George rootstock. Budwood selected from an old-vine vineyard on Mt. Veeder called the Brandlin Ranch
Vinification: Fermented in closed tanks
Aging: Aged 15 months in French oak (65% new)
Tasting Notes: James Suckling, 92 PTS (Wine Enthusiast)"Lots of dark cherries, blueberry compote and violets followed by vanilla, Christmas spices and roasted coffee beans. Full-bodied, soft acidity and finely grained ripe tannins. Energetic yet harmonious wine with good freshness. Drink or hold." 15.2% abv
