La Spinetta, one of Piedmont’s most renowned producers, is celebrated for crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines. The 2021 Ca' di Pian Barbera d'Asti Superiore is a classic example, offering a rich and balanced expression of Barbera from vineyards in the heart of the region.
- WINEMAKER: Giorgio Rivetti and the La Spinetta team.
- FARMING: Sustainable practices, with vines averaging 40 years old, planted on calcareous marl soils.
- VARIETY: 100% Barbera.
- TERROIR: Vineyards in Castagnole delle Lanze, Costigliole d’Asti, and Montegrosso d’Asti, benefiting from south-facing slopes.
- VINIFICATION: Fermented in temperature-controlled vats, followed by 12 months of aging in second- and third-passage French oak barrels, and bottle aging for an additional 3 months.
- TASTING NOTES: Intense aromas of blackberries and morello cherries. On the palate, it's rich with dark fruit, balanced acidity, and subtle oak influence, offering a smooth, elegant finish
