Château Prieuré-Lichine, a 4ème Cru Classé estate, is known for its elegant and refined Margaux wines. The 2014 vintage, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, showcases the house’s commitment to quality and terroir-driven wines.
- WINEMAKER: The estate is currently managed by Sacha Lichine, continuing the legacy of his father, Alexis Lichine.
- FARMING: Sustainable practices, with a focus on preserving the estate’s fragmented plots across the Margaux appellation.
- VARIETY: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.
- TERROIR: Gravelly soils with a mix of clay, contributing to the wine's structure and elegance.
- VINIFICATION: Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, aged for 14-16 months in French oak (40% new).
- TASTING NOTES: Aromas of cassis, redcurrants, and graphite, with hints of violet and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with refined tannins and a long, elegant finish. The acidity brings freshness and balance to the wine.
