Sandlands Vineyards, founded by Tegan Passalacqua, focuses on producing wines from California's lesser-known, heritage grape varieties. The 2021 Zinfandel from Lodi exemplifies this commitment, showcasing fruit from the historic Kirschenmann Vineyard.

- VINEYARD: Planted in 1886 in the heart of western Lodi by Joseph Spenker. Farmed for decades by Al Bechthold and now thriving under the watchful eye of the Phillips family.
- VINIFICATION: Traditional winemaking techniques are employed, with fermentation in neutral vessels to preserve the varietal's character.
- AGING: The wine is aged in neutral French oak barrels to enhance complexity without imparting excessive oak flavors.
- TASTING NOTES: Crushed cherries, lavender and black tea. Layered, ethereal finish.
- FOOD PAIRINGS: This versatile Cinsault pairs well with grilled meats, game birds and Indian food! 13 barrels produced.
